Typhoon Ondoy:the tragedy

Posted on the September 27th, 2009 under Locations, news by aple

It was yesterday, August 26, 2009 when the great Typhoon Ondoy shows its enormous tragedy. Many properties and lives were destroyed and still counting until now. I live in Makati and I considered myself and my friends lucky that we were not part of those areas that were affected by high floods caused by this typhoon. However, watching tv and seeing those people who needs help made e feel sad. Good thing i got home safe  from Ultra yesterday. But the travel going to makati was not that easy. We really had a hard time finding roads because almost all areas were flooded. I can even see people walking through the flood in makati. Jeepneys don’t  even pass through Pasong Tamo area because the water is almost 5 feet high. I was so happy that there are many people and companies who are willing to help those who are in need. It was a disaster and a big tragedy in manila but this kind of incident is unenforceable. All we can do is to give the best help that we can do to the needy.

Salamat Cory: Transfer of Cory Aquino’s grave passing by Ayala Avenue, Makati City

Posted on the August 5th, 2009 under news by aple

Last August 3, 2009 around 12:00 to 12:30 pm, the body of late president Corazon Aquino was transferred to Manila Cathedral. With her family, her coffin carried by the truck covered with yellow flowers pass by Ayala Avenue in Makati.

The night before this event, I have no idea that it will going to happen until a text message coming from my manager and office mates informing to prepare confetti and wear black and yellow ribbon in honor of Pres. Cory Aquino. It was confirmed, her remains will pass by Ayala Avenue. People felt so privileged to witness the transfer of her remain. It was so sad that i can’t witness this event because I was out of the office but good thing my office mates took pictures and videos. As I browse the pictures and videos, I saw how people loved her, how they sympathize with the family and how they thanked her for all the good things that she has done for the country.

Rice shortage in the Philippines

Posted on the April 18th, 2008 under food, news by aple

I went to the grocery store this morning to buy rice and it gave me a big surprise. I heard a lot of news and gossips around about the increase of its price and because of that i expected a little increase. Not until I saw the recent price of the usual 2 kilos super white rice that i buy. It only cost 55 pesos before and guess what, it’s already 75 pesos. Imagine, a 20 pesos increase. I never expected that it can increase this high and it did struck me as a concerned buyer. Here’s another thing. The NFA rice that they sell for a cheaper price for the Filipino people is already limited to 2 kilos of rice for each customer. Come to think of it. Rice is considered as the staple food in the Philippines right? How come there are such happenings as these? Is there really a rice shortage in our country? I ask some people around and listen to some news. Some say there are no rice shortage others say that maybe the government is using it to divert the issue from Lozada’s case. oh well, whatever it is its up to you to decide..
